Teresa M. Fitzgerald, WMCP®

Teresa enjoys the dynamic of financial planning, advising & consulting as it is different for each person and the life path they have traveled to where they are today. She loves the story that each of her clients share with her about why how they came to be where they are in life and their experiences that shaped who they are.  

She is well known in financial services for her client-first philosophy of listening and hearing what's most important for each client.  Understanding their ideal future outcome with great potential and promise! She made a career change in 2006 to financial services, after working in public service, seeing many people and communities affected by a lack of planning and advanced preparation. 

As a Wealth Management Certified Professional®, WMCP®, and as a Fiduciary,  Teresa serves her clients in a wealth management capacity by collaborating with her clients to create investment portfolios by design, which consist of lifecycle goals, investment preferences and aversions, and other investment dynamics as preferred by her clients. This enables clients to have access to a more robust platform of investment choices and it not proprietary in nature.

As a Financial Planning Consultant, her focus includes tax planning and tax-efficient strategies for income distribution, savings for retirement, risk minimization, lifetime lifestyle income and comprehensive financial strategies. Helping clients to orchestrate lifetime lifestyle income between both asset location and asset allocation, creating a life by design, rather than default in retirement. Helping to ensure their ideal lifestyle remains present throughout their lifetime, in the event they need to change course at any time by choice, chance or unfortunate circumstances, prior to retirement. 

Whether this be with business owners, entrepreneurs, consultants, sales leadership, or executives, they all have one thing in common: They're busy and need to collaborate with a financial partner they can trust, who is genuine and well-versed with experience.

Teresa also has an affinity for helping women and their families of all industries, stages and career paths plan for their future. Ideally that accommodates each area of life, as this is the vital foundation of the planning she performs. In partnering with her, each client has access to knowing how to employ these strategies within their own financial planning.

In 2023 Teresa founded Affinity Planning Partners to ensure she could continue to carry forward the legacy of client-centric planning & advising that is so important to her clients.  Empowering other financial professionals to do the same with their clients under her umbrella of Affinity Planning Partners.  Empowering a team of financial professionals with a client-concierge mindset to positively impact generations to come!

She is passionate about networking and helping to positively impact others! Why? Teresa enjoys to pay-it-forward.  Her tenure within this industry spans the country the providing her with great perspective and expertise in working with people of diverse backgrounds. 

In 2022 Teresa was awarded with the Wealth Management Certified Professional (WMCP®) Designation Scholarship by The American College as she continues to bring the pursuit of education and outstanding financial planning to each client. 

She was recognized in 2022 in the Top Women advisors of Atlanta and was also a nominee for Women Working in Wealth for 2022 through the American College for Financial Services.  In 2019 she was also a nominee for The North Shore Chicago Woman in Business Award.   

She served on the NAIFA Georgia State Board as a Vice President for 2022 & 2023. She's also served on the Women's Impact Network Council Board for Lincoln Investment Planning since 2023.

Since 2024, Teresa gives back to her community and the youth of the future, by serving as a Mentor to students through Elevate Coweta Students, based in Coweta County, GA.  She believes all children deserve the fundamental ability for literacy, as reading and leanring how to advocate for themselves in education is one of the best avenues for a meaningful future ahead! 

She also serves on the Buoni Amici Lodge in Georgia, as a Founding Trustee for the Order of the Sons and Daughter of Italy, honoring her Sicilian Heritage, 

Teresa lives in Metro Atlanta with her family and dachshunds.  She has a passion for helping others through genuine networking and loves to have a pay it forward mentality, connecting people when possible.  She enjoys helping children with resources to realize their strengths to propel them into the mindset that anything is possible! Teresa loves time with her family and friends, making the most out of life, each and every single day. 

Given in 2022 & 2023, the annual NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors) Top Women Advisors of Atlanta is based on years in the industry and sales metrics, including assets under management, insurance sales, professional designations held, and participation in NAIFA programs.  In order to apply for the award, advisor must have a current paid NAIFA membership, and pay an application fee.
